Betty Rivera has been singing locally and nationally for over 25 years. She has sung with the six-time Grammy Award winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, television shows like Good Morning America and The Today Show, and The Spirit of New York Cruises, and as a background vocalist for live and studio recording for various recording artists and choirs.
Betty obtained a Bachelor’s in Music (Voice Concentration) from Nyack College and a Masters in Public Administration from Baruch College. Betty taught in New York as a Music Teacher in a junior high school and private lessons to children and adults of all levels for more than 7 years. Whether it is Music Theatre, Pop, Jazz, Gospel, or R&B, Betty loves to incorporate effective vocal techniques that can be implemented in various styles of music.
Betty understands how vulnerable singing can be, and therefore caters her lessons to unearth and polish student’s hidden strengths, while refining and developing areas that are most challenging so they can reach their greatest potential. Her combined expertise and focused discipline are tempered by her kind approach and genuine concern for each student’s growth and development. Betty uses creative vocal techniques to teach students according to their individual goals and abilities. Betty’s passion is to teach anyone who wants to learn the art of singing to help them grow to sing with confidence and freedom.
Currently, Betty is available for private lessons on Monday and Wednesday's.
