Jason has had a love of sharing music with others since his earliest years. He holds degrees in music theory, composition, and music education from the State University of New York at Fredonia. Since attaining his New York State teaching certification, he has worked as a choral director and general music educator in two school districts in western New York.
In his compositional life, he has written a number of works for various instrumental combinations and has also written and arranged freelance music for a wide variety of applications, including rehearsal recordings, mobile device applications, and music and sound effects for animation. In the educational setting, he embraces the fact that all students have their own individual skill sets, interests, and strengths and weaknesses.
As such, Jason takes a student-centered approach but also understands the value of technical study. At the core, he enjoys sharing his knowledge and interest in a wide variety of styles and also encourages all students to play what they love!
Currently, Jason is available for private lessons Tuesday, Friday and Sunday evenings.
